Signposting to policy, evidence and tools: Open Spaces
Are you working to promote health and well-being through community-led open space projects in London? In this section of the site we signpost you to relevant policies, strategies, evidence and tools.
How is Well London promoting the use of and enhancing the quality of open spaces?
The quality of the environment has a significant impact on people's health and wellbeing. Everyone benefits from access to safe, well designed, attractive green spaces. From taking a simple walk to being part of a community allotment group, open spaces offer countless opportunities to get active, socialise and relax.
Well London has worked with all 20 Phase 1 communities to facilitate open space improvements that will have a lasting impact on both physical and mental well-being. As well as physical improvements, our Healthy Spaces project promotes access to open spaces and healthy living choices through a range of activities and events in these spaces. These include: community feasts, visits to pick-your-own farms, community gardening, food growing, and 'cook & eat' events, to name a few.
Well London aims to promote access to open spaces. Our Healthy Spaces project is supporting physical improvements to the local environment that involve the local community in every step from planning to implementation.
