Deputy Mayor, Victoria Borwick with Well London Delivery Team volunteers, Paula Paul and Clair Mehegan- Aberfeldy Estate, Tower Hamlets

On the 30th January 2014, the Deputy Mayor, Victoria Borwick visited the Aberfeldy estate to see Well London in action. Well London in Tower Hamlets is led by Poplar Harca Housing association and they are running programmes that are making a real difference to peoples lives. The food co-op is a perfect example of Well London looking after residents pockets as well as their health. This project is led by volunteers and enables local residents to access affordable fruit and vegetables.

Every week at midnight Paula Paul and Claire Mehegan visit Spitafields Market to buy fruit and vegetables which they then sell to the local community at affordable prices. More recently these volunteers have really shown us their entrepreneurial flair by branching out to sell fruit baskets to nearby offices.

It was great for Well London to showcase what we do to the Deputy Mayor. She later shared her experience on Twitter and we loved her tweet so much that we thought we would share it with you
