Hounslow (Phase 1 - Completed)

The following Well London activities took place in the Cranford target area.

Themed Projects

Be Creative, Be Well

  • APORENet; taster sessions using a manual potter's wheel and paint bisque fired products.
  • Sit and Share'; Storytelling project, outdoor performance and creation of a picnic area, ingraining the stories from the project onto tables and chairs.

I enjoyed it every time I come here.  Good atmosphere, helpful staff, I can't wait till next time.

Buywell

Box scheme.

The training was excellent and invaluable for people who are just starting out. I learnt quite a bit and hopefully can implement some of it here.

Eatwell

  • Cook & Eat courses.
  • Community Feasts were delivered in July 2009 and April 2011.

DIY Happiness

Eight DIY Happiness sessions.  Dare to Dream ideas that were developed included a happiness library for local residents.

Mental Wellbeing impact assessment (MWIA)

An MWIA took place on the The Hub Garden Project.

Changing Minds

Mental health awareness sessions took place on a variety of subjects including:

  • Mental Health Awareness (Speak Out)
  • Confidence Building.

Healthy Spaces

  • The Hub Centre Garden
  • Meadows Estate Planting

Activate London

  • Fortnightly physical activity session.
  • Free access to sporting facilities at Hounslow Barracks.

Training communities

This project provided training for the following Well London groups:

  • WLDT members
  • Well London Activators
  • MWIA facilitators
  • Young Ambassador

Training Communities also offered Personal support packages (PSPs).  Examples of training people chose included the following:

  • Circus skills.
  • Sugar craft.
  • Sports coaching
  • Gardening.
  • Cookery
  • Food hygiene.

Youth.com

  • Music project.
  • A health and beauty project for young women.
