How we make a difference

People living in deprived communities often experience the poorest levels of health and well-being. Well London seeks to change this by working with local communities and service providers to find practical solutions. Please click here to see a short video of Well London in action.

Well London works on the ground to understand the challenges communities face in achieving good health and mental well-being. We get into the heart of the community by door knocking, facilitating workshops and working at a local level with service providers. Together we create the space to enable the community to share their views and great ideas.

Once the community and service providers have agreed local priorities. We work with residents, volunteers and providers to develop and run interesting projects that encourage communities to eat more healthily, get more active, feel good about themselves and make them proud of where they live. This process takes place in all Well London areas. Well London has also carried out the engagement process for the Francis Crick Institute in preparation for the development of their healthy living centre. How you can get involved

Well London’s impact is largely supported by our Well London Delivery Team that consists of a paid coordinator and volunteers who live or have networks within these communities. Our volunteers provide support with finding out what is happening on the ground, motivating the community to get involved, connecting people to services, putting communities suggestions into action as well as administrative tasks.

We believe that everyone has something to offer and we are committed to putting local expertise to good use but also to develop the potential in the communities where we work. To do this we provide our volunteers with flexible volunteer roles, training and support to enable them to reach their personal goals whilst helping to improve the health outcomes of their local community. Contact your local coordinator now if you have a skill you wish to share or would like to gain some experience that may help you to access training or a job. We provide full training so no experience is necessary we only ask that you have a willingness to learn and a commitment to making a difference in your community.
